Which style of straps is right for me?
Great question! We know it can be confusing sometimes, and we're here to help. Simply refer to our guide below where we offer you a brief explanation of the uses for each of the two available strap types.
If you're an olympic lifter or someone who's going to be performing lifts where you'll need to release a bar quickly such as the clean and jerk or the snatch, then you're going to want to go with a single-loop strap. Single-loop (otherwise known as closed-loop or olympic) straps are designed and tailor-made exclusively for olympic lifters.
That, of course, leaves us with the "lasso" straps for the bodybuilders, casual PR-crushers, or - basically - everyone else. This style of strap is very versatile and can be used while performing a variety of lifts including the conventional, sumo and romanian deadlift. Again, do not opt for these straps if you're an olympic lifter who will be performing lifts such as the snatch or clean and jerk where you will need to release the bar quickly. This type of strap is designed to provide maximum grip on the weight throughout the full ROM and features more material, allowing the user to wrap the straps around the bar multiple times.
